This long, demanding tour takes you back to the start via nearby banana plantations, then to very steep hills, estates and up to Pino Alto.
From there, the route is a little gentler as you directly immerse yourself in the jungle of the Acentejo. The vegetation changes continuously and we use paths that are well prepared as well as uneven trails with potholes where the demanding nature of this uphill stretch alters constantly. The reward is spectacular views of the ragged northern coast of Tenerife and the scent of the Canarian pines that surround the entire island in varying densities. After a brief descent you will travel along a trail of approximately 10 kilometres with corners at a good pace, gaining a sufficient run-up to take on the opposite side, heading east. Alicia at Bar Las Lagunetas awaits with meat and potatoes along with other Canarian delicacies and a delicious beer (alcohol-free) ;o). Here, you will have the chance to recharge your batteries as well as your bike’s battery. After a coffee you will continue south. The La Esperanza area is possible one of the most beautiful on the island. It constantly changes between laurel plants, pine trees and eucalyptus trees, cheering the heart of any nature fan. Descents are prevalent here and, after a brief turn north, you will return to the wine-making Acentejo region whose fame transcends borders. Through charming towns free of tourism you will make your way back to La Paz where you will find your well-deserved beer waiting for you at the end of the tour.
